I don't really use salt on anything for myself, so I rarely give DD salt even at 2. Only if its in a baking recipe or if I'm making a dry rub for meat.

I've never put salt in the food I've specifically cooked for DD, but I've occasionally cut bite-sized pieces of my dinner for her and I know the marinades we use on our chicken/steak contain some salt. I figure her intake is probably extremely minimal, given how little she actually eats. She's 8.5 mo.

I think around 9 months when DD was on more table food. I try to limit it as much as possible but if I'm cooking for all three of us, then I'll definitely use it.

I never introduced added salt into DS's diet. He has had pretzels etc but I do not cook with salt so he has never had added salt.
