Re: rise of the jack o lanters
Check out the facebook page. Also, as for the groupon it looks like they only have late times (9:30 and 10p) left. A friend went last year and said it was pretty cool and fun but very crowded. Her girls are older, though. Under 3 is free.
EAT: It's a walk through and it looks like they have a ton of jack o lanterns all carved differently. Facebook page said they just added new things this year. I really didn't look at it carefully since I decided not to purchase.

Re: rise of the jack o lanters
I went last year. It was ok. I got it for like 50% off so for that price it was ok/worth it i guess. They are all not carved pumpkins though. Most are, I guess you would call it, carved Styrofoam pumpkins. I don't know if I would go back. But it was a nice thing to do once.

Re: rise of the jack o lanters
Ehh we went last year and we were disappointed. It was very chaotic/disorganized and they didn't even use real pumpkins.

Re: rise of the jack o lanters
We thought it was great. For some reason everybody was bunched up at the beginning of the exhibition so if you were in that bunch it would have been terribly crowded if you thought you were supposed to stay in line. We just bypassed the crowd and went backwards to forwards and basically saw it all with no crowd so it was great.
Some younger children were afraid though so I would anticipate that. The groupon was $8 last year for better times. If you go earlier like 7 it's more $ so maybe not as worth it.

This is how I felt as well. We brought DS who was 14 months at the time.

Re: rise of the jack o lanters
It was only OK. It didn't take long to walk through and wasn't especially fun for kids. We wouldn't go back.
The paths were uneven and very hard to walk on and I would imagine hard with a stroller, too.
It was a lot of waiting and then not all that much to see. Some of the pumpkins were cool, but again they are fake pumpkins and you actually can tell.
Not 100% worth it IMO.

Re: rise of the jack o lanters
Crashing..
but DH and I went last year and enjoyed it. We walked through pretty slowly and took pictures, so I'd say it took about 45 minutes to go through. We don't live terribly far away from it though; it's not something I'd necessarily travel a great distance for.
I think I heard something about them making the grounds less bumpy though this year. I'd go again, but I don't know what dates I'll be available to go yet...so I'll have to see if they are sold out by the time I know.

Re: rise of the jack o lanters
I went to another version in Westchester.
I loved it (and it was raining, cold, and the path was uneven).
My 9 month old and 2 year old loved it (we spoke about pumpkins before and the lights and designs are dazzling to see). Identifying the designs was fun & it took an hour to go through. We carried the kids (or DS walked) as it was crowded and they wouldn't be able to see from the stroller.

we went last year... it was ok. I wouldnt do it again. Mainly bc I live in eastern suffolk. Not worth the drive. Also my youngest was only 10 months old and stayed in the stroller. This year with her being 1 1/2 and likes to walk (and run) I def wont bring her. It was crowded and like herds of people trying to walk and stop to look at things. I was nervous about by then 3 year old who is good about holding our hands.

Re: rise of the jack o lanters
I got an email from them listing a load of changes made to improve it from last year. Going to give it a go again.
