Anyone familiar with Bay Shore?
I'm looking at a senior citizens apartment complex on Saxon Avenue between Union Blvd and Montauk Hwy for my mom.
I've heard some parts of Bay Shore can be a bit rough so I don't want to have her move toman area she ismgoing to be in danger.
Anyone know about this part of Bay Shore?

I grew up there and am very familiar with the area. Saxon Ave. is the border street between Bay Shore and Islip. There is shopping centers around there and it's not a bad part of town.

I agree- there's a nice shopping center literally around the corner from this complex with a Stop and Shop and a King Kullen across the street with another little shopping center. And as the PP stated, it's on the border of Islip so it's not the "bad part" everyone thinks of when they hear about Bayshore.

Agreed! I grew up in Bay Shore and live not too far from there in Islip.

I think the King Kullen over there closed down. But the other shopping center over there (Stop and Shop) is great. Not a bad area. There's also a Kohl's down Saxon (near Sunrise).

Anyone familiar with Bay Shore?
There are very few "bad" parts of Bay Shore. That is definitely not one of them! I grew up north of there and my parents currently live south of there on the water. It's a beautiful area with a good amount to do!
