Re: Granite rec
We used a great granite place in copaigue on sunrise highway called RJB stone or something like that (it had three letters starting with R). its on the north side of sunrise right next to kitchen and bath consumers.

We used Elegante Granite in Westbury. They did our kitchen, master bath tub deck, bathroom vanity and a few pieces in the shower.
reasonbly priced and very good quaility work.
if you are buying "pieces" ie: not a full kitchen, there are definately ways to make things cheaper
1) you need to pick from what they have on hand at the place, not from full slabs. 2) if it is easy measurements, and doesn't need real "install" you should come to them with measurement of the piece and what overhangs/edging you want. 3) you should pick up the granite yourself when you're done.
Those will make ti the cheapest price possible. There is a cost for everything, measuring, delivery etc. any of that you can take out, the cheaper it can be. we had them measure for the kitchen and master bath, but for the other bath, it was a last minute thing, after everything was done, and we saved by not having them install and not meeasure, but then it was a simple standard size vanity

Used this place too - for the granite in our master bath and will use them again when we re-do our main bath later this year.

Yeah. I went to a few granite places (some being recommended from here). I was surprised when I visited Alcamo. I felt they had the best selection to choose from, yet were also very reasonable price wise.
Would definitely use again.
