Don't want a baby shower...

I really don't want a baby shower. Am I crazy? I would rather have a beautiful christening party.

ETA: I will still register because I'm sure family and friends will want to buy stuff. That's okay, right?

But some people are going to want to "shower" you

And it's true - the stuff that you are going to need is expensive, it adds up. So, IDK, having one is very helpful. I could not have afforded the items if I bought them on my own. If you can, then no problem - it's your wishes. I'm sure your loved ones will respect that.

I didn't want one either. So I didn't have one! My cousin gave me a ton of her hand me down stuff in mint condition. As far as expense goes, people will buy you gifts anyway and their is a ton a stuff that people like to buy but is so unecessary. Not having a shower helps to cut down on a lot of the clutter.

I didn't have one, more for religious/superstitious reasons. Most people I know in my culture do not have them. I will admit I have had panic moments of 'shit when and how am I gonna get everything I need?' but lots of people have offered to buy us big ticket items, and I know we'll get more when the baby comes. It's a personal choice! If you don't want one don't have it!
