Cavity - First Trimester!!!!!!!
I just got a BFP but I have a cavity and my dentist told me I should get it filled within a month. My OB said I should wait until the 2nd trimester but if the dentist feels the cavity should be filled, he would rather me do it now to prevent further complications/infection.
My OB said the risk is not 0%, especially during the first trimester so I am very nervous.
If I wait until the 2nd trimester I will be waiting 2 months instead of 1 per the dentist's recommendation.
Do any of you have experience with this?
TIA

I had cavities filled and a root canal done in my 1st and 2nd trimesters when I was pregnant with DS a few years ago. No complications, no worries. The dentist can not use regular Novocain because of the epinephrine that is in it. They CAN however use carbocane (I believe that is the name) which is a similar local numbing agent that will not have any negative effects on you or the baby.

Carbocaine saved me!! I cracked a tooth and was missing a chunk. I had work done in the second just because of timing
