how much to move from 1 home to another ..1 mile away.


I had 2 in home quotes today $495 and $1,695.

We paid $145 per hour for four men, we moved a 2 bdrm coop and full attic to a home one mile away (distance didn't matter bc there is a DOT fee in NYC and you have to pay for that and they also consider that 'travel time' if you have travel).

We totally underestimated how long it would take, it took from 9-5 and cost 1200 plus tip...

I'm sorry I don't remember exactly what we paid but it was very reasonable -- I can tell you that much -- because I compared it and out of five companies, it was the cheapest. They are also flexible if you negotiate with them.

And, most of all, they were the most professional, friendliest, and very trustworthy - I felt SO good having them, never worried a bit... when, in the past, I had used two other companies that made me a little

College Hunks Moving... they also have the junk removal service.

They were fantastic - nice, strong, college guys and they were SO well spoken and polite - they send them to mover training school and they were excellent.

I will use them again in a heartbeat!

We used Imperial Movers in April. Flat rate: $500

I paid $995 -- moving a 2 bedroom apartment in Merrick to a house in Farmingdale. That price did NOT include tip, but the moving company provided all of our boxes, packing supplies, tape, etc.

We used Men on the Move...don't quite remember the exact price, but it was around $1000 or a little less. We moved half a mile to our new place.
