Hospital related question
Open to those going in for the first time and those who have been there and done that
Do I need to pack pjs for myself for the hospital or do i just wear the hospital gown?
I am trying to figure out if I should buy something to pack just in case ... my app said to pack my bag starting this week (31 weeks) plus I want to back it before I go back to work in September
Thanks all

Hospital related question
I have been told to bring some sweats you don't care about because you bleed a lot, so I just plan to bring 1-2 of those and then use whatever the hospital provides.
I have no plans to purchase anything special because it will get ruined most likely.

Re: Hospital related question
With my first i just used the hospital gowns, with my second I brought gaucho pants and yoga pants, but basically stayed in the hospital gown bc those huge pads u have to wear after birth didnt look too hot in clingy pants lol.. so this time im just bringing yoga pants to go home in, and lounging in a robe and my gown the rest of the time.
Also what app do u use that tells u what u should be doing?? Id love that so I dont keep forgetting to do stuff lol.

Re: Hospital related question
I just wore the gown and brought sweats for the trip home. It would have been way to physically painful to try to dress myself everyday honestly(c-section) and my clothing was the last thing on my mind. I might get a thin robe for walking around though.

Re: Hospital related question
I had a vaginal delivery and I brought 2 pairs of pjs and 2 lounge type outfits to wear during the day. I also brought a maxi dress to wear home. I had DD#3 at 5:30am and they had me up and showering well before noon and I was in my own clothing for lunch!

Re: Hospital related question
I had 2 pairs of dark (navy blue) pajama pants. One was a set of pjs... Navy blue bottoms & a nursing tank. The other was plain navy bottoms, lose fitting adjustable waste, and I wore that with a nursing tank as well. I wound up w/ a c-section and stayed the 4th night as well, so I was glad to have the 2 sets of pjs.
Also, people on this board suggested I bring a robe, and I was SO thankful I did. It was just a plain pink terry robe from VS that I had and NEVER used except for when I had DD.
The hospital robe is bare backed and after the first day I was grateful to take it off and put in normal pajamas and feel like a human again. Plus, I felt more comfortable for visitors.

Re: Hospital related question
I changed into a nursing tank and yoga pants as soon as I could function! There was no way I was staying in that gown, especially with all the visitors. And I agree that a robe is key!

Hospital related question
I didn't want to see visitors in the hospital gown, its too revealing. I brought two pairs of pajamas, a robe and my nursing tanks.

Re: Hospital related question
I bought cheap nightgowns at TJ Maxx/ Marshalls that were low cut and I could nurse in. I would also bring a pair of black maternity yoga pants. You will want to take a shower and get dress at some point. I promise the shower will make you feel a lot better. Don't spend a lot of money on anything though b/c you do bleed a lot.

Re: Hospital related question
I had packed some comfy clothes but ended up having a csection and was extremely swollen all over. None of the clothes I packed fit me so my DH had to bring me nightgowns from home. I def did not stay in the gown that long - had DS in the evening and the next day was in my own clothes

Re: Hospital related question
I wore the gown until the 2nd day when I showered (I had a c-section). Then I put on my own pjs. I had bought a nursing set (pants and a shirt) and a nursing nightgown, but only wore the nightgown in the hospital. I also had a robe I brought from home since I was walking the floor.

Hospital related question
For DS 1 - I wore the gown the whole time I was there (less than 48 hrs after he was born). For DS 2 - he was born at 7:29 and I got up the next morning and put clothes on after my shower. I felt more up for it.
I packed lounge clothes. Yoga pants and a comfy shirt.

Re: Hospital related question
I brought 2 pairs of maternity sweats- in DARK colors and 2 loose tee shirts. The first day(night really- DD was born at 4 pm) I wore the gown, the next morning they took out my IV and I was able to shower- so I put on my own clothes. Dont' bring anything fancy or light in color- you will most likely bleed on it.
