Moms of 2 or more who BF...

So... if you BF one of your DC, did you have a difficult time with another one? IDK why I am nervous I am going to have a difficult time... even though my DD was a BF Champ and I didn't think would stop until College. lol

Just wondering if its going to be as easy the 2nd time around or if peoples expirence with different children is different b/c of the child/latch itself.

TIA!

My DD (who is now close to 3) was a terrible BF so I wound up EPing.
My DS, 3.5 months, had a rough latch in the beginning but fixed it himself and is now a CHAMPION BFer... almost too good, he's hooked on the boob!

I'm on my third and each one has been a good breastfeeder...I know that I have gotten better with each, so it has been easier each time just on my side because i am more confident. Also, I bf within minutes after delivery, which i think helped a lot this time.

I had issues with my 1st latching at first but I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that she was a preemie and getting expressed milk at the NICU. I did a lot more pumping with her though because she was so small so I really wanted to track how many oz she was taking. DS never had any BFing issues at all...except that he wanted to eat ALL the time Chat Icon

#2 was much easier...he had some latch issues, but you know how to fix it since it's #2. My milk came much quicker and it was much easier for me to pump.

I breastfed DS for a year. It was quite difficult and we had latching issues for the first month or two. DD is 4 weeks, and I've found that this time around is so much easier. DD latched well and eats like a champ. I also feel that I'm more relaxed as I BFed before.

This is my second time nursing and I find it so much easier. Even with not being able to nurse for the first week (he was in nicu). I think I was much more confident and relaxed about the second go round.

I had a hard time with both bc of milk issues. So I am not the best person to reply but just stay calm and try your best. If it worked well the first time then it prob will the second.

Both of mine were great BFers. With my first, I was more anxious/inexperienced, so things weren't perfectly smooth in the first week or two, but that was all on me. He latched perfectly from the moment he was born, and BFed until he weaned at 15 months. With my second, I had only had a 7 month hiatus from nursing by the time he was born, so it was so natural and comfortable for me. Things went perfectly right from the start with him. He is now 20.5 months and still going!

I'm EBF my twin boys and even though there are two of them, I find it much easier than with my first DS. The only thing that makes it "difficult" is the fact that I have to do it while taking care of an older child, but its getting easier everyday!
