would you invite anyone besides DH to see ultrasound?
i'm going for my 3d sono today...my DH just called to tell me that it's a big room and we can invite people to come with us and suggested maybe to invite my mom and sister, etc. I'm close to my mom so I'm sure she would love to be there but a part of me just wants this experience to be shared with DH and myself. Is that rude of me?
I'm having the whole thing put on a dvd so I intended to just show all the family and friends the video.

I had a 3d gender reveal sono at 16 weeks with my first. It was just dh and I in the actual,y room but my sister, best friend and mom were in the next room where they had a big screen tv hooked up to the sono machine so they saw what we saw. The sono tech did tell dh and I the. Gender first and then typed on the screen "it's a boy" so they could see it. It was pretty cool to hear them start clapping and yelling. I don't know if I would have wanted them in the actual room though. It's a personal preference, do what you feel comfortable with.

With #1 I invited my mil and sil to our 3D sono. I wanted them to see their first grandchild/neice.
I'll be doing the same with #Poo
Every couple is different. No right or wrong answer

I had my MIL come to the level II. But other than that no one. I was havign them weekly for the 3rd tri and DH didn't even come to those.

I think it's a matter of personal preference.
(I am an eternal pessimist and always thought about what would happen if I got bad news and I had other people in the room. But that's just me.)

But that's why i didn't have my mom come till 34wks.
Eta: the anatomy scan, while fun, is VERY diagnostic. I would only bring someone to that if you are ok with them hearing something not so pleasant because you just never know. It's rare, but possible. The point of the anatomy scan is about the baby's health, not so much the gender. I feel like people often lose sight of that! Just my opinion of course.

My mom and MIL came to my 20 week soon, but we didn't find out the gender.
It's a personal choice - but I wouldn't have had much more then them. My dad and FIL maybe but that's it.

I feel the same way. Even tho is the the 3d and it's for fun, I just want to be the one to see it first and then share with the world if I want.

I only had my dh with me for all the sonos. I felt like it was our experience as a couple and I didn't want to share that very personal experience with anyone else. Selfish of me? Idk but it was what I wanted.

For all of my office sonos it was DH, except once when my sister came.
When we did the 3D in FL as a surprise for my MIL, it was me, DH, MIL, 2 SILs and my niece and 2 nephews. Everyone loved it and it was such a wonderful experience to share with them.

Personally, I would prefer it be just DH and I. No one else has been to any sonos. I have taken pictures and emailed them to family, but that's it.

My mom and MIL came to my 20 week with my first... I did not invite anyone but DH to the second... I was a little uncomfortable at 20 weeks with the first because there was too much talking going on, too many stories.... and I just wasn't able to concentrate on what was happening in the moment... with DC#2.. it was such a different feeling.. now with DC #3.... It was just DH and I ... and it was different too, but because its #3 I guess.... and I was just relieved we didn't have to pay anymore rooms etc...

We didn't do a 3d sono. DH wanted to but I didn't. We've had so many to this point that I need some surprise element left
I did bring my mom to two and she cried at both!
