Recommend your washer/dryer!
Not stackable, please. We are hopefully closing on our house soon and DH's grandmothers have generously offered to get us a new washer and dryer because the ones in the house are quite old. Nothing TOO expensive but fairly decent quality!

I needed to replace mine after Sandy. I got GE front loaders.
I want to say both combined were either $1200 or $1600 and I got several hundred back in rebates.
I used Marlin Appliance in Seaford (a small town business) and they had everything in stock for delivery whenever I wanted.
The washer is I also believe over 4cft so it easily fits large comforters and all my big couch pillows (which I wash frequently because I have a pug and 2 cats).
My dryer also has the steam setting which I love because I hate ironing my clothes.

Recommend your washer/dryer!
I bought a Samsung top loader and matching dryer recently. Love them. Biggest size I could find, which makes such a difference. And I don't know if it's because I'm used to the crappy apartment washer and dryer we had in our apartment, but our clothes come out SO soft now.

I have GE front loaders and really liek them. We purchased them in jan 2010 and have not had any issues.
