Dressing for Bed
For the past 2 days, when Ali gets up - her hands are freezing!! The rest of her is warm, but her hands are sooooo cold. I have her in a long sleeve onesie with footies (I don't know what they are called). Last night I also put her in onesie underneath her PJ's. Am I not dressing her enough? I have been dressing her like this and she has never been cold before. She is usually like a little heater. Any advice?

Re: Dressing for Bed
our ped told us you can't tell temp by their hands and feet b/c they are usually cold. She said to check the back of her neck to see if she's cold or warm. She also said the rule of thumb for clothing them is one more layer than you or I would need based on the temp.

Re: Dressing for Bed
Miranda has always had really cold extremities no matter how warm I dress her. I think they say the best place to check if they are warm enough is the back of the neck. We can dress her in socks and all and her hands and feet will still be ice cold.

I was just thinking the same thing! It is not cold enough to put the heat on but it has been a little chilly and I have noticed Hailey's hands being cold as well! I dress her the same way. I will check her neck tomorrow morning.

Re: Dressing for Bed
See, Ali's neck is warm as can be - so I don't think she is cold. But I feel bad that her hands are cold

Re: Dressing for Bed
We have the same problem with DD. We now put her in one of those Sleep & Plays (long sleeve onesie with feet) and one of those wearable blankets/sleep sacks. It's fleece & super warm. Her hands are still cold though. ETA:

Re: Dressing for Bed
The cold hands definitely has to do with their deveolping circulation. Mikey's hands are always cold as well and the doctor assured me that it was perfectly normal.
