I think I am having a major allergic reaction to lovenox
I have been on lovenox injections for about 2 weeks. Shortly after starting (like a day or 2) I developed a small rash on my chest and side of stomach (no where near injection sites) I went to my regular dr and he said it looked like poison ivy (I was just in fire island for 2 weeks so it made sense). But it continued to spread EVERYWHERE. It is the itchiest thing I have ever dealt with. It actuallly made me cry. I have been putting on the cream the dr gave me and it hasnt helped AT ALL. I am really thinkinking it may be from the lovenox and now I am freaking out. Its been 2 weeks and I can barely function. Do I go back to my regular dr? Go to my RE who I am still with for another week? Go to a dermatologist? My hematologist? Or my OB? Lol. I am a mess and need relief. Has any one had any similar reaction to lovenox? Is there something else I can take if I am allergic?

I don't have any experience/advice, I would try the hematologist in case they've seen that reaction before. You can also take heparin injections I believe but it would be twice a day instead of once a day (dosage doesn't last as long as Lovenox). Good luck!!

I did not have any reaction to Lovenox but since I switched over to heparin I have a giant red rash all across my lower stomach, though it is more or less related to the injection sites. I have been injecting it in my leg since but my stomach rash seems to get worse and is spreading. It is insanely itchy even though i stopped injecting there 48hrs ago. I have been taking Benadryl.
I don't know if you are having a similar reaction but its possible. I would ask all or any of the drs what they think. I would ask the hematologist or whomever is prescribing the Lovenox first.
