Pack N Play as Bassinet

I have the graco pack n play with cuddle cove... We are using this as a bassinet in our bedroom. As people continue to question how baby is going to sleep on the "flimsy" bassinet part- high up... Where does baby sleep at night time? Does baby sleep in the cuddle cove on top at night? Or do u move baby in the flat "bassinet" flat part? I thought baby could sleep in the cuddle cove but my DH said it doesn't seem safe to have baby sleeping so high and then my mother in law said how she doesn't feel like the flat part is sturdy enough and kept asking how 2 bars only hold it up. Please help me.. I'm due soon and now I'm second guessing myself Chat Icon

Crashing..I bought a matress from walmart for the pack and play. It makes it definitly more comfortable. It can be used for the bassinet part and then it can be used for when you lower it also. I do think the cuddle cove is not that roomy to be used for months.

We had an actual bassinet for DD that she outgrew around 4 months. We then used the bassinet attachment of our PnP...it wasn't called a Cuddle Cove, so maybe that's something different...it was just a flat pad that hung from the top of the PnP. She was higher up, but no way she could fall out and it was easier access at night. She stayed in our room in that until around 6 1/2 months (once she could roll over all the way). Then we moved her to her crib.

ETA-it was a mesh net that hung, and the pad from the bottom of the PnP was used in it. There weren't 2 separate pads or anything.

I am registering for that. It has a bassinet stand and the bassinet is nice and steardy. If you want to see it in person they have it at the Westbury Babies R Us. BBB didn't have it in the store.

We had baby sleep in the top part not the vinyl part (we used that for diaper changes.)

I had read that the bassinet part is not safe for the baby to sleep in. We only use the pack n play at my parents house, but DS always sleeps on the bottom flat part. However, this is only once in a while, not every night. And he was older when he started to sleep down there. We put the swing in our bedroom and that's where he slept for the first month he was home from the hospital. Then we transitioned him in the the crib in his room.

I would get a real bassinet or use the rock n play. The directions say don't add any padding. Bassinet is Good so baby is used to being flat

I'm pretty sure the baby bargains book says its not safe to have the baby sleep in the cuddle cove part of the pack n play. Please look into this first before making your decision. I still registered for this as well but I plan on using a bassinet for the baby to sleep in at night.
