When To Install Car Seat?
I'm almost 36 weeks and I'm wondering when u installed ur car seat or plan on doing so? I am going to start packing my hospital bag this weekend.
ETA: I'm thinking of going to the firehouse to get it installed properly? Do I have to tip them? How much per car?

I just made DH do this last weekend (he wanted to wait until I was already in the hospital, everything with him is "what's the rush?"  ). So we did it at 37 weeks.

I have an appointment for 8/27 in Levittown. I just happened to get the flier in the mail yesterday from TOH. Ill be 37 weeks.

I'll be 35 weeks on Sat. I'm having DH install the car seats this weekend. Then ill have it inspected with the TOH on the 7,8, 10 or the 15th.
My hospital bag for the most part is all packed. I have a strong feeling i'm not making it to Sept (due 9/7) and would rather get everything done early.

a month before my due date. we took it to the seat inspection day for brookhaven. it was free.
i installed it - they just double checked it.
honestly -- you should install it. read the directions all the way through and walk yourself through it (BOTH OF YOU) and then get it checked.
having someone install it for you isn't going to help you when inevitably you need to do it the next time probably at a moment's notice and have no clue what to do because someone else did it.
seriously, do yourself a favor. install it yourself and then get it checked by the people who know what they're doing. they'll show you if its not right and walk you through what the proper way to do it is. but if you're follow the directions you should probably have it 95% right. they'll likely just have to tighten it!

When To Install Car Seat?
DH read the manual then watched a 1 minute video on how to install it. My car has LATCH and it was really easy. He just did it last week at 37 wks. My bag has been packed since 36 wks.

I was 34 Weeks on Monday and I just had them installed and re-installed for DD#1 Yesterday!
I also went to Hicksville... Only reason I did it early is b/c you need to make an appt and I just took the first one I could get! Or I would have waited another week or so. But no longer then 37 weeks.

I had it done at Cohen's the day before my due date. i didn't want to wait that long but that's when they were having their next car seat installation event.

The top link on the pregnancy board contains resources for expecting mothers. When you click on the resources guide, one of the links contains info regarding car seat installations. All you do is click the link, put in your zipcode and they give you places that do installation.
Car seat went in my car at 36w and DH put his base in at 37. I would say you are right on schedule.

We can def try but I just want to make sure that we do it properly for our LO. Ur right tho... We will need to learn eventually
