Who knows about allergies?

Background: My LO is now 9 1/2 mos old. She eats everything we give her and is on mostly table food at this point (90% I'd say). I have been breastfeeding since birth and have had no issues at all with my diet and her reacting.

When she was 8 mos old I tried giving her plain yogurt and she had a reaction around her mouth area. I honestly didn't notice it much, she went down for her nap and woke up and it was gone. So I gave yogurt to her again the following day, and the red rash appeared even worse, slightly down her neck. She didn't seem bothered at all - but this time I paid attention and knew something wasn't right. I called the pediatrician who suggested waiting to give her it for a while and then we'd see what happens. So, I gave her some 2 weeks ago, she reacted again (slight rash, not as bad as last time), and then I tried again today and same thing (slight rash, went away very quickly).

She eats cheese without any problems.

My question is, does this sound like a dairy allergy? I need to call my ped again because I was going to start her on whole milk when I return to work next month (about a month sooner than the typical 1 year old transition) - but since she's still reacting to the yogurt, I don't know what to do!

We've been going through this with DD. She was ebf and had no issues with anything I ate. Around 8-9 months when I started adding more variety to her foods I would notice red spots around her mouth immediately when she was eating sometimes. I kept a log bc it was so hard to track what caused it sometimes. I pulled back on what I gave her and tried to keep things very simple and limit dairy. We had allergy testing done at a year (blood test) and she only showed a slight reaction to boiled milk. I already knew uncooked milk and cheese was her biggest issue but they didn't test that. They tested her for almond, soy, and coconut so that I knew what alternatives I could go to. She's fine with yogurt and cooked milk or cheese and is now on organic soymilk (still nurses once a day). I would try to do some research on your own. There are a lot of different types of dairy allergies (DD seems to have a whey allergy) and my ped honestly wasn't that knowledgeable on the specifics. From what I hear, there are some differences between milk, yogurt, and cheese so they can have allergies to one and not the others. I've also been trying goat's milk with DD and so far so good although she won't take much of it.
