Is Eden a smoke-free resort (in rooms)?

Is Eden Resort in Lancaster a smoke-free resort in the rooms?

My sister is there now and they are staying in one of the villas. She said their room stinks of cigarette smoke. They complained about it, and while they were out at the parks, housekeeping came and sprayed the room down. She said the fumes from that were even worse. The hotel is all booked, so there isn't even another room to switch to.

We've raved about this place and have stayed there several times. I'm disappointed this was her experience the first time staying there. I told her to complain again when checking out and to email Best Western. Their customer service is great, so I think they will compensate her for the inconvenience. But it still kind of ruined their time there.

Yes, I believe all rooms are supposed to be smoke free. I would keep complaining. They may not be able to move her but may give her some sort of refund.

Yes - the rooms are smoke free. I believe they have designated smoking areas.

Sorry it's ruining her stay.

Thank you. I thought it was smoke free (as I think most hotels are these days, unless you specifically book a smoking room).

The entire property is smoke free- they dont' even have smoking rooms.
There were little signs in all the rooms when we were there last week- stating that and stating that if you were caught smoking you could get thrown out and have to pay a $250 smoke mitigation fee.
I guess they don't enforce it!

When I stayed at the villa's in February, my room had an ash tray in it... That is also where the pets are allowed to stay... I never smelled any cigarette smoke though

That's awful and I'm sorry that she is having that experience.

Definitely complain- with hotels- when someone smokes in a non-smoking room, they actually charge that person a cleaning fee of around $300 and they are supposed to take the room off the list of rooms that can be used. So they probably collected a cleaning fee so your sister is definitely entitled to money off her stay because they didnt adequately clean it
