Do you think I'll have a chance to take the 3 hr test or just be diagnosed with GD?
I took my 1hr and Im sure I failed because I tested myself right after they drew blood and my number was 186. This is my second pregnancy, I had GD with my son which was controlled with diet. I had a wonderful pregnancy and delivery. Do you think with a high number like that they will tell me to take the 3 hr or just diagnose me with GD?

i mean, if they want you to skip it -- you can always just ask to do the 3 hour.

True. I just remember with DS my number was 143 and they just diagnosed me. I didnt have to do the 3 hr however that was at 28 weeks pregnant this time around Im only 6 weeks so I dont think if that will change things. I test my someone occ. and my numbers are always good. Just today I had 3 slices of pizza (yea, Im a pig) tested 2hr later and my number was 93. Guess Ill ask her this Thurs. at my first appt

I'd bet they'll make you take the 3 hour to be sure.

They will probably ask you to take it. If you really don't want to take the 3 hour you can probably just tell them you would rather go ahead and monitor your sugars and assume the GD diet since you have a history. It's your body and they can't make you take a test you don't want if you are taking proper precautions. You might be surprised and pass the 3 hour.

I am surprised they just diagnosed you at 143. I thought cut off was like 135? I got 146 did 3 hour and I was fine! I failed 1 hour both times... This pregnancy like I said I got 146 and I was fine! I was 28 weeks... IDK maybe its different cut offs at different weeks?

I would contact your endocrinologist and see what they recommend. But they will probably tell you to bypass the 3 hour and star watching your sugars and follow the diet.

Thanks everyone! I just got a call from the nurse regarding my numbers but I missed her call so Im sitting here waiting for her call back. Ill probably just by pass the 3hr because more than likely I have GD again.

That's surprising to me too. I failed the 1 hour both times with 155. I passed the 3 hour with DS1. I barely failed 1 part of the 3 hour and was diagnosed with glucose intolerance. It's treated the same as GD although it never developed into that.
