Habitual Night Waking

Anyone have experience with this? My 11 month old has never STTN. She wakes up at 2am and 5am every night. CIO does not work, she cries for hours and hours and if she does fall asleep it only lasts 10-30 minutes before she'll awake crying where she left off. I know it is not hunger at this point- just habit because it is the same exact times every single night. I haven't slept more than 5 or 6 hours in a 24 hour span in 11 months and those 5 or 6 hours are usually broken up into 45 minute to 3 hour blocks. not even straight. I'm losing it. I need help!!!

DD is 15 months and didn't start STTN regularly until last month. We got a day or a few days here and there once she hit a year but that was it. The crazy thing is that she didn't even always wake crying. She chat and sing but it would go on for hours if I didn't get her and then I'd get even less sleep. My ped said his own kid was the same and didn't STTN until 16 months. No real advice, just reassurance that eventually it's got to happen!

Re: Habitual Night Waking

If she wakes up that regularly, you might want to try the "wake to sleep" method described in The Baby Whisperer. You can probably google it, but here is what I remember-- you go in about 1/2 hour before you expect her to wake and gently rub her back or leg or whatever. The goal is to rouse her out of deep sleep but not totally awake, so that it disrupts her pattern.
I would try it on her 2am wake up and not the 5am, at least at first.
