Should I be concerned?

DD (just turned 2) for the last few days has been sticking her fingers in her ears at the same time, almost like kids do when they're trying not to hear something. I ask her if they hurt, she says yes. I ask her if she's just being silly, she says yes. I ask her if she likes the way things sound when she does that, she says yes. She doesn’t really understand what I’m asking her, so I can’t go by her answers. Last night she was doing it and kept saying “hi”, which made me think it’s about how things sound and not about them hurting. She’s not pulling on them and no trouble hearing. Should I be concerned?

Nope. My DD does this, too, and she's 16 months.

my 2 year old still plays with his ears. I think he likes how things sound different with his fingers in his ears and out. He saw his ENT on Friday and they were clear and no fluid.

Ds went through that. I think it was the different sounds that he was experimenting with. He would also put his fingers in his ears and talk, whisper, yell just to hear himself.
