Please let somebody be up *Updated*

I was driving into work a few hours ago. I felt like the seam on the maternity pants I'm wearing was a bit tight across the bottom of my belly. I chalked it up to just the fit of the pants. Well, I sneezed, and I got this excrutiating pain across the whole bottom of my belly...from hip to hip down where my 2 previous c-section incisions are. I was pulling into a parking space anyway, so I tried to get out, figuring it was a muscle that I just needed to stretch out. Well, I could not even stand up. I called DH in tears, not knowing what to do. The pain subsided after a couple of minutes. Now I'm sitting here at work, and I keep feeling throbbing going on there. I spoke to a nurse up in the delivery room. She said that as long as the pain has gone away that there's probably nothing to worry about, but that I should call my doc in the am.

Have any of you experienced anything like this? Would you put in an emergency call now, at 1:23am?

oh, and p/s - we're going on vacation in the morning for 12 days!

How many weeks are you? You're not going to enjoy your vacation until you see that everything's ok. I'd get a sono.

I'm 22 weeks. Yes, I work in a hospital, but they won't just do a sono unless I'm admitted as a patient.

I had sharp pain every time I sneezed! It could also be ligament pain from the expanding uterus. It is totally normally but for peace of mind you can call your dr or the labor and delivery floor at your hospital at any hour to speak to someone.

Re: Please let somebody be up

that has been the worse area for me (just at the botton of the abdomen). I've had that pain before where its like I can barely catch a breath its so painful. It's def round lig pain...I have it REALLY bad now at 38 weeks and I know all is ok...it happens every pregnancy to me. But if it makes you feel better to get checked out, no harm in that! Feel better...

I've been having sharp pain since 11 weeks, now 26 tomorrow. I get pain whenever I sneeze. And last weekend all day sat I was in so much I could barely walk. Drinking water and laying down helped along with regular strength Tylenol. I would say call to put your mind at ease. It's hopefully just round ligament pain.

I am 34 weeks, and I had a sharp pain a few days ago... I was laying down and then went to get up and had difficultly standing up straight. I was scared bc it was by my panty line and the pain stayed for about 10 minutes. I have no idea what this was... But thankfully it went away. I chalked it up to baby being positioned a certain way. Baby was kicking throughout the ordeal and continued kicking at night, etc... For a second I was worried I was going into labor!

Sounds like round ligament pain. As long as you didn't have any bleeding and its gone away I am sure you are fine. I get the same thing and it really hurts!

Re: Please let somebody be up

Update: I continued having "pulsing" sensations/throbs all night. So I called my docs office and of course they have a different doc covering for them. So he told the service to call me back and tell me that if I'm in pain to go to the ER. So that is what I did. Now I'm here in L&D being monitored and getting fluids. Doc says that I have an "irritable uterus". They did a sono and checked everything out. Baby and everything all look good! So after this is all finished I can get on the road to Florida. Ughhh!

Re: Please let somebody be up *Updated*

I get this often if I sneeze or stand up too quickly.

My OB said it's likely caused by scar tissue from a previous C-Section Chat Icon

Hope you're feeling better!
