How to find out if an electrician is licensed?
Does anyone know how to look this up? Also does anyone know if an electrician works for a company and does work on the side outside to company if they need their own insurance or are covered through the company?

Re: How to find out if an electrician is licensed?
I know Suffolk has a license, then different towns in Nassau and even some villages in Nassau each have their own licenses. So you can probably search on the website of whatever municipality you fall under. Or you can ask them for their license info - there's no reason for them to keep that private.
And whoever signs off on the work should have insurance, so if he is doing it as a side job (not through his company) then he should have his own insurance. His company will not be responsible for what he does on his own time.
