Will my OB give me an Rx for a sore throat??

Will my OB give me an Rx for a sore throat??
I'd like to avoid going to my PCP. I have my 32 wk appt tonight and my throat has hurt for 4 days now (only when I swallow). I can see that it's red and a little swollen and there's a white spot on my courage hangy-ball. 
Thoughts?

He may if he thinks its an infection. It sure won't hurt to ask especially since you are going there.

If you have strep throat then the dr will definitely prescribe an antibiotic. are you running a fever at all? if the ob office doesn't have the rapid strep tests available I would suggest going to either to your pcp or a first need type of place asap. strep shouldn't be taken lightly especially while pregnant.
** not saying it is obviously. but from what you describe it sounds like it could be.

Thanks! The OB just told me to try Robitussin when I told him I've had a sore throat.
It got worse last night (hurts more and more white spots)- so I'm heading to the PCP in a little while. I've never had strep in my life- hopefully this isn't a first
