40+ weeks pregnant - UGH!
My due date was last Friday and I am not really having any I-will-be-going-into-labor-any-moment kind of feelings. No contractions, nothing. I don't want to be pregnant anymore! This is pregnancy #2 and I am so sick of being weighted down and the hip, back pain, especially with a 23mo who wants to be carried and is super high energy.
Anyone hear of natural induction methods that have worked, for yourself or friends? I have tried....
-Eggplant - I have eaten eggplant every day since Thursday - Pineapple - Long walks -
Today DH and I will probably get some indian food as I heard curry is a good one.

Re: 40+ weeks pregnant - UGH!
Ugh, I've been there. I know the feeling. With #1 I went to 41 weeks and still the induction at the hospital took an extra 2 days to work. I was MISERABLE! But all went well - was able to deliver vaginally & birth was a smooth process.
But yeah, as for natural inductions, I don't believe in any of them. I tried them all even though my Dr advised me against it. She said they're old wives tales and it's just coincidence when people claim they do work. The only one that has potential is DTD because something in the guy's "stuff" could help, but it didn't help us! lol. But it can't hurt to try different things just in case. The only thing I did not try is Castor Oil because she told me that it's too dangerous and mostly just dehydrates you & baby. I didn't think that was worth it.
Good luck! I hope it happens for you SOOOON!!

Re: 40+ weeks pregnant - UGH!
I feel for you!! I was 39 weeks on Friday with my third...doctors swore I would be early because I have been 3+ cm and 75% effaced since 36 weeks. And here I am!! I guess it will happen soon!! I have been walking a lot to try to keep things moving and I do drink red raspberry leaf tea to "prepare" the uterus and use various pressure points that supposedly help. My sil is a massage therapist, so I am trying her suggestions first because I want to avoid a medical induction.

Re: 40+ weeks pregnant - UGH!
I just read an article in Parents mag about this. One of the things to try was pinching your nipples, hard but not too too hard, for 3-5 minutes at a time, several times a day. It also said you could use a breast pump.
Sex was another thing to try. Can't remember the third. GL!

I don't know about the breast pump part but nipple stimulation helps; especially if its prior to .

DD one actually still BF, so that covers the nipple stimulation.
And I am a vegetarian, so pepperoni pizza is out. I wonder if fakin pepperoni pizza would work
I really hope this little guy shows up soon! I was hoping to avoid a medical induction.

I was in your shoes with DD1. I tried it all and nothing worked. My doctor wouldn't even discuss induction until 41w. I ended up getting induced the night of 41w2d and had the baby the next morning.
Hope you go on your own very soon!

For me the only thing that worked was time....lots of it! I was scheduled to be induced at 42 weeks and the night before I finally went into labor. I had no progress before that night, no signs of labor at all and was less than 1cm. Then contractions just started out of nowhere and I didn't end up with any medications other than an epi. Hopefully your body will get moving before you end up being induced!

I had to be induced at 41 weeks with my first. I tried everything to go into labor on my own and nothing worked. I hope you go into labor soon!

Re: 40+ weeks pregnant - UGH!
No progress or updates. Just sitting here twiddling my thumbs, and working a whole lot more days than I was expecting to! Thinking every little thing could possibly be a sign that the baby will come soon.... DH keeps asking "Any baby yet?"
Next dr appt is Friday (41 week mark), so I really hope this little fellow makes his appearance before then!
