If you've converted to gas

What was your experience like -

How long did it take?

How much mess/hassle?

Cost (if you don't mind sharing)?

How much do you save on heating?

Any other BTDT tips?

What was your experience like - easy! Burner king took care of everything

How long did it take? about 6/7 hours

How much mess/hassle? not much at all

Cost (if you don't mind sharing)? about $6k (we had gas coming to house for dryer and stove already)

How much do you save on heating? its alteast half the costs

Any other BTDT tips? Do it!

All of this except we only had a gas line in the street. National Grid brings it up to the house for free if you have it in the street.

Re: If you've converted to gas

What was your experience like - National Grid was a PITA. They changed their quote to bring gas to our house a million times and kept postponing the job. Burner King was pretty good at harassing them though.

How long did it take? After National Grid finally ran the gas line, it was done in a day. It took National Grid around 3 months to run the gas though.

How much mess/hassle? No mess, no hassle.

Cost (if you don't mind sharing)? We needed to pay to run the gas line because it was over 100 feet from our house. We also had an upgraded system, so Burner King didn't have to replace hot water heater, etc. It was $7k.

How much do you save on heating? A lot. It's a huge difference.

Any other BTDT tips? Get it done before winter.
