Dutch wonderland planning

Planning a DW trip for this summer. How many days do we need for the park? Anything else fun in the area for a 2 1/2 year old? Decided on the best western Eden after all the good reviews on here...
At tips or refs would be great! Thanks!

Re: Dutch wonderland planning

We did one day in the park with a 2 year old and it was plenty of time. If you want you could do the preview hours the night before. Or you could make it two days so you can spend more time in the water area.

We also took DS to the Strasburg RR and RR Museum. He enjoyed both, although he's been on the LIRR many times so the train ride wasn't that exciting for him.

We also drove up to Hershey one day which was about 45 minutes away from Eden.

Re: Dutch wonderland planning

was it worth going to hershey with a toddler? I've also heard about Cherry Crest Farm (or somethign like that) but not sure if it would be a good idea if it is really hot out.

Re: Dutch wonderland planning

We had fun at Hershey. My DS is a small 2 year old though and was in the lowest height category. So there were lots of ride for him to do, but no so many things we could all do together.

If your DC is over 36 inches that will give you a lot more options.

FYI you don't have to do the preview the night before your full day. You can do the preview on say Sunday, and do your full day whenever you want. Many people don't know that. We were able to do everything in the preview hours, so we saved our full day to go back when we go to Hershey in a few weeks. Hershey has tons of rides for little kids spread out through the entire park.

The Hands on House in Lancaster is a really cute museum, perfect for little ones.
