Re: Jet Blue or Southwest with toddlers?
JetBlue has televisions at every seat, whereas Southwest does not. I know in this age of tablets/iPads, that's not a selling point for all...but if you think your child would be entertained by the TV at their seat, that's something to consider! And also JetBlue's seats are leather, not material...so spills wipe up no problemo. I don't have kids, but I fly a lot and like to be entertained...and spill things on occasion...lol
I'm taking my first Southwest flight in a few days, so I don't know much about them. Other than I'm sad I don't have a television.

Don't have kids, but I prefer Jet Blue.
Aside from the seatback entertainment, you get assigned seats - as opposed to Southwest's open seating policy (which I hate). Southwest has family boarding between the A & B groups.
Jet Blue also seems like it's a little more roomy to me and the seats are way more comfy.
Oh yeah - and I live literally 10 minutes away from MacArthur but always choose Jet Blue instead.

I prefer Southwest, since they have no change fees and we are constantly changing things with sick kids, unexpected events coming up, etc. Plus it's closer to home.

Jet Blue or Southwest with toddlers?
I have flown Southwest and jetblue with a 2 yo within the past month... I would choose southwest, unless it was a long flight (and this JUST because you can watch TV).
Southwest is closer, the people who work there are great, the boarding is better (on the whole - but for families, def.) and I have rarely been delayed. The seats are not bad at all. They usually have lower prices and you can rebook them for a lower rate.
Jetblue does have roomier seats and legroom, and the TV is a huge plus. However, the crew were just meh, the guy at the gate was really unfriendly and my flight was delayed 2 hours (which gave me plenty of time to see that 95% of the 5 to 6 gates nearby also had delayed flights). Oh another plus is the crazy amount of food and the play area in the new JB terminal.
If I was flying distance, I would choose Virgin America over JB. But we always choose SW for shorter distances.

If it's easy for you to fly out of Macarthur - I would choose Southwest hands down - just for convenience - unless there is a huge price difference.
Keep in mind when pricing also that Southwest allows 2 free checked bags per ticketed passenger and JetBlue allows 1.
JetBlue is great, as are the tv's but, there is no Nick Jr or Disney Jr (just regular Nick) so unless we fly in the morning, there's nothing that appeals to DS on tv.

I pick whichever is cheaper. I have flown both with my DS and while the TV was good he doesn't watch for more than a few minutes.
I have found SW to be more expensive lately.
I live on the N/s border so it about the same for me to get to either.
