Style Observation (kinda long and pointless)

I'm by no means skinny or fat, I've got that typical "I've had 3 kids" belly paunch and big boobs. For example, a size 8 jeans fits me perfectly everywhere except my waist but if I go up a size, the pants are swimming on me.

So, I try to wear clothes that "hide" my midsection. However, I'm starting to feel that by trying to "hide" my lumps and bumps, I think I just look fat in my clothes (usually wear loose tank with another shirt or sweater over it).

Obviously, the best look is something that is tailored, A-line, etc., but I'm finding it very difficult to find those kinds of clothes (i.e., they must be "out of style.")

So, I've been noticing that many woman just wear regular clothes that doesn't hide their belly and they look fine.

So, I guess my long-winded question is: do you try to cover the spare tire or do you just accept it and dress as you please?

:raising hand: Momn of 3 kids also.

I do my best to hide it.

Fitted tanks and shirts and jeans make it worse.

I have hips and thick thighs and while my stomach isnt that bad for having 3...certain things that I wear draws more bumps and ugh, I end up feeling fat and also its not an attractive look.

This is why I can't buy shirts!

Unlike you, I am heavy in general, so I can't really hide that, but I try to camouflage my belly as much as possible. (No kids, it's just big. Chat Icon )

So the clothes I do wear aren't exactly stylish--I have a few button down blouses that are old and come in enough under my chest to not be tent like, are loose enough to cling to the gut.

My stomach is definitely not as flat as I'd like it to be and it's definitely my "problem" area. I only have 2 and have lost all the baby weight but, I'm much more mushy than before. I use "undergarments" to hide it honestly! I have a ton of these shaper tank tops from ann taylor loft and tuck them into my jeans and they smooth everything out. Honestly, it makes a HUGE difference!

I have the same issues. I feel like buying shirts is the hardest part. Everything is either super tight and draws attention to the baby pouch or they are so big its makes me look larger. Drives me crazy because I weigh less than when I got pg but my shape is worse.

Funny you posted this as I see this and was thinking about it the other day myself. I am for the most part thin but after 3 kids my belly isn't perfect and I don't do much to get it any better. But that being said - I am like a size 0/2 even started wearing a 2 piece bathing suit again but still won't wear fitted shirts. I wear a lot of fitted tanks covered by flowy ones in the summer and look for shirts with banded bottoms. I caught a glimpse of myself this weekend in a window at a BBQ and was like wow do I look wider than I think I really am. But I try to put on my fitted shirts or just wear the first layer tank and can't get passed my little pouch. I think if you have a big chest you can get away with it more because it offsets it a bit - I noticed as I envy those wearing fitted shirts. Me - I have a very small chest so I feel like it all blends -Chat Icon
