Gymnastics for 2 yr old- near Port Jeff

DD turned 2 last month and I'd like to try gymnastics with her.

She is in EI and gets PT. She has low tone in her legs and core. I think gymnastics would be good for her as an other way to build strength

Do any places start kids at 2?

Thanks in advance

I wouldn't rec. gold medal gym in centereach. They really have no understating of toddlers. They talked to my dd like she was in grade school it was so crowded. Not sure if holbrook is too far but Debbie's gym is great they have a nice mommy and me program it a small gym and small classes.

I was going to suggest gold medal in centereach - I thought they were great with the toddlers and kept structure to the class.

My son goes to Gold Medal but he is in their Special Needs class. It is run by a spec ed teacher.

I just want to add we went to gold medal during the week at night. They had a lot of classes going on and we never had the same teacher. My dd was just. 2 and they were getting annoyed that she didn't know what a pike or squat meant Chat Icon. Maybe during the day it's better when the bigger kids are in school and the there might be different instructors.

I went during the week at night also. My dd started when she turned two. we always had the same teachers- they had the separate toddler gym so the only time we were in the big part was for pit so we were separate from the other classes.

They did drill moves, but by the spring my dd did know straddle, scissor, etc. but that is what I was looking for- we did little gym before that and for the amount of money that cost she wasn't learning gymnastics it was more open play.

Port Jeff Gymnastics is GREAT! They really teach them, and want them to learn and progress to be on the teams. But I'm not sure they take 2 year olds. I would give them a call!

My DD has been going to Gold Medal in Centereach for almost two years. We like it there! I will say though that I understand some posters complaints. They do "assume" the kids just know what to do and and at the beginning I did feel as though a little more training to learn the moves would have been nice, seems like they need more compassionate instructors who know how to handle the real tiny ones.
