6wk appt - what to expect?

With DD, my OB didn't want to see me until I was 8wks. At that point we did an internal sonogram and I got to take home pictures of little one, as well as listen & watch HB. It was an incredible visit. I just called about my new pregnancy to make an appt, but she said she wanted to see me next week, when I'll be 6wks along. I'm psyched that I don't have to wait as long as I expected, but curious about it.

Anybody go to an appt that early? What happened? Were you able to hear the HB? Was a sonogram done?

I had my first appt at 6 weeks and a sonogram was done. We could see the flicker of a heartbeat but didn't hear it

We had a heartbeat at 6w1d. At 6w no HB. That extra day made all the difference for us.

I had an appt at my OB at 6 weeks. We saw and heard the heartbeat with an internal sonogram.

I get worried to go this early because I don't want to not hear a HB and then be all freaked out for no reason. I hope it's not too early to detect something. At 8wks we saw the perfect form of our baby, everybody thought I was much further along. I was really hoping for something like that again.

I've gone as early as 5wk4d. At 6 weeks you should (hopefully!) see a heartbeat, as long as your dates are all correct, etc.

6wk appt - what to expect?

I'm jealous! I made my first appt. today with Stonybrook Midwives and they won't see me til 7-8 weeks. I told them my LMP which is May 28th but I didn't tell them I have longer cycles so I'm not as far along as they think. My first appt. is July 26th when I'll be 7w1d.

Can't come soon enough! 17 days... 17 days. LOL.

I went too early this time- I thought I was 6 weeks and I was only like 3 or 4. I had to go back a couple times- when we finally got to like 7 weeks there was finally a heartbeat- but in the meantime I freaked myself out. As long as you are confident with your dates- 6 weeks should be fine

6wk appt - what to expect?

I went at six weeks and there was no heart beat yet, not only that but they couldn't "confirm" the pregnancy so I had to pay for my 6 week AND 8 week appt. . . wish I had waited until 8 weeks even though it is torture.

I went very early with my first preg (chemical) and literally all they did was give me a urine test to confirm it.

This preg, I was almost 8 weeks and had an internal sono and saw/heard the heartbeat.

yeah, my doctor usually waits to see patients until 8 weeks. I called and they set my appt for July 29. I wanted to ask the nurse some questions though, considering the Dr had me on some stuff with my last pregnancy (due to some chemicals I had prior to being pregnant with her). When the nurse called back, she said Dr wants to see me earlier. They didn't see me earlier with DD#1 though so I think it's odd, but ok. I really hope it's more than just a confirmation because I already know I am and have to drive 45 min to get to her. What a waste that would be. I'd probably be annoying and demand more from them. lol.

My office always had me go in around 6 weeks to get any necessary annual exam stuff out of the way and to talk with the dr, get script for prenatals. No sono.

with #1 i had an internal at 6w3d. I was able to hear the hb

i saw flicker of heartbeat on internal sono at 6w2d. there is a pic in my baby album from that sono if you want to take a look.

Now another question - if you went at 6wks, when was the next visit?? When I went last time at 8wks, my next was 12wks. I'm wondering if I'll go at 6 and again at 8 since they didn't cancel the appt I'd already made for July 29, or if there will be a longer gap. I guess I'll just have to wait & see.

With #poo I didn't use an RE so when I got my bfp I called my doc. They wanted me to come in at week 6 but I couldn't so I went in at week 7. They had me come in 2 weeks later to make sure it was still growing.

I went at 6 weeks and saw a heart beat.. The doctor saw me about 10 days later. He said he sees anyone a second time that the baby is measuring less than 8mm which is basically anyone that early.
