My 2 yr old is a terror... mostly to his brother

DS just turned 2. For the past month he just starts hitting things. To explain his personality in 2 words... bossy and stubborn. He's also an instigator.
DS1 is 4 years old and much more passive. For some reason my 2 yr old can go from the sweetest, loving boy to a terror. He gets excited to see his brother, but then goes and hits him. Only him. My 4 yr old will be playing nicely then my 2 yr old just goes over and whacks him. No reason at all. They would go from perfectly happy to screaming and crying.
I do time out and explain to make nice. I totally see he gets it, but does his own thing anyway.

My almost 16 month old picks on his 3 1/2 year old brother all the time too.

He wraps his little arms around his brothers waist, knocks him over and sits on him.

He hits him in the head with Matchbox cars.

We do time outs too - I don't think he gets it yet but, more to show his older brother that we don't condone that type of behavior.

My older one is starting to fight back a bit - but, the little one just laughs at him.

Honestly I think your 2 YO is normal. you are used to your 4 YO persoanlity and the 2 YO is completely opposite. But still a normal 2 YO.

I know he's totally normal. Just funny to see the little guy tournament his older brother. Thank goodness his older brother is somewhat good about it. Like the pp said... I do quick timeouts and a lecture so my older DS doesn't think it's ok to hit back. Although he sometimes does.
