Balloons or no balloons?
DS's 2nd birthday is this Saturday. We are (hopefully) having a pool/backyard birthday party. He loves Elmo so getting an Elmo cake.
We are doing a birthday banner, but not going crazy with outside decorations. We did a big luau party last year for his first. Lots of people came. Now it's much smaller. I also remember the balloons kept blowing over.
Maybe one batch by the table, but that's it.
I am making the veggies look like Sesame characters too.
I just realized the last few kid birthdays (pool/outside) we have been to there wasn't crazy decorations and I thought simple and fun was perfect.
Thoughts?

Balloons or no balloons?
I love balloons at a party. They are inexpensive, and I think it really adds a party feel!

If it's going to be really hot (haven't looked that far ahead) I wouldn't bother.
If not - it's not necessary. I usually do them since my kids love them.

While I love balloons, I have noticed at the last 2 (outdoor) parties we had for DD, they would sometimes just be blowing a little too much in the wind and getting in the way a bit (I had them as centerpieces and decorations as well). I would definitely still get some, but I would take the less is more approach next time! All bets are off for an indoor party though!

I think I will do balloons. Not much decorations, but that should be perfect.
Was gonna do 10. Two batches of 5 for Sesame...
2 blue, 2 red and a yellow.
2 of them. I guess I can put them on each side of the bar outside.

Get a few. Tie them to the fence posts, your mailbox, etc.

They sell small helium tanks at Party City. You can do them yourself. I find that a lot easier than going to a store the morning of and driving home with a car full of balloons.

Balloons or no balloons?
We're doing a Sesame Street party too and i just ordered some balloons today. My DD actually asks for them cause she loves balloons. I think a few would be nice!

If you get them at Party City ask them to use the "high float" when filling them. It costs a few cents extra per balloon but it really makes a difference in how well they hold up outside in the heat.

We will do a few balloons but I always get nervous when going to a party if they are there. My twins LLLOVE THEM & want to hold them. I have hard time telling them no. I say keep balloons limited & get a few banners

I like them on the front of a house. It always gave me the party feeling when my mom tied the balloons on the front of the house for parties!
