What is the depth of most IGPs? Was at a friends house and their IGP was 12 feet deep, diving board side.
Is this the norm? What is norm for a diving board end?

Re: In ground pools that are 12 feet deep?
We just installed ours in March. For a certificate of occupancy in most Long Island towns (that I know of ) is 8ft for diving board. That is what I've been told is the "norm". I never wanted a diving board (aesthetics). Our bigger problem is that since we are on the beach, the water table is low. At any given time it hovers between 6-9 ft. We opted to dig the depth, the deepest we could go. We ended up with 7ft. we could've dug 8ft and paid 5k to dewater, but we didn't care since we weren't putting a diving board. Also dh's argument was that most times people will be in the shallow end so by making the deep end, not as deep, more people would stay in the deeper end. You can still dive but need to dive gently. Thanks to the good advice of the people of LIF, we have pre warned and lectured everyone (lightly lol)
This is not our house, but it is exactly the look of the pool. Identically. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-G9QSpqBaT_Y/T5X1KmhXbzI/AAAAAAAAQrA/3lAm__oxct4/s1600/cococozy%2Bsagaponack%2Bhamptons%2Bhouse%2Bhome%2Bpool%2Bexterior%2Bbackyard%2Boutdoor%2Bliving.jpg
