Trying to choose a color for our family room. In some pics, "smokey taupe" looks very gray and in others it looks more tan. For those of you who have used it, which is more accurate? Pics would be great if you have!

I really want a color like this one. This is "Perfect Greige" by SW but my painter only uses BM. Any suggestions for a BM paint that is similar?

We just painted our family room BM Revere Pewter. I don't have any pics yet, but i'm really happy with the gray/beige color.

Loooove Revere Pewter. Just did my dining room that color. But if you really want the SW color, BM should be able to color match it, no?

Hmm, would it be possible to go to a store that sells BM paints with the picture and they could possibly match it for you?

DH and I are buying a home and are now thinking of paint colors. I've seen brands that I'm thinking of having other manufacturers try and match. For example, I've seen some Farrow and Ball colors that I really like but they are very expensive and sold only to the trade. I know Sherwin Williams will pretty much match them. I think it's frustrating that you are paying for a service and are told that you are limited to a brand. I know BM paint is great, but there are others out there too.

It's a great color. Good luck and keep us posted!

I'm sure BM can match it - they probably get similar requests all the time.

If not, try looking into:

Lenox Tan
Bleeker Beige

Both are Benjamin Moore.

Bring the chip from SW and BM will make it for you. I did the reverse for 2 BM colors at SW and they they looked on the back of the chip, punched the code into their computer and made both colors without any problems.

If you buy your BM paint from an Aboff's store, they have a database and can match any brand's paint colors (Behr, Valspar, Sherman Williams, etc.)
