hi guys! i had my baby.
im not too regular of a poster but i have found such invaluable advice and info here. I've always loved reading other people's updates so i figured id share mine.
i had been 3 cm dilated since 37 week appt. thankfully, my doctor discussed my prior pregnancy and delivery with me and told me that in part because i delivered my DD #1 in four hours and in part because of my "great" cervix, when labor started for me it would start quickly and not to wait at home for the contractions to be 5 minutes apart. she said when my water breaks to just go. at my 38 week appt i was 3.5 cm and again she said my cervix was really good. she scheduled me for an induction for july 11. that night, i put my DD to bed and then laid down myself. shortly after i felt and heard POP and a lot of pain. it was my water breaking at 8:55 or so. by 9:28 i had my first contraction and the second one came 7 minutes later. i remembered my doctors words and went right to the hospital, which is 10 minutes from my house. in those 10 minutes my contractions went to 3 minutes apart. we skipped admitting and went right up to L&D, which was about 10 pm. by that time i was in such immense pain and the contractions were right on top of each other. i could not get the epidural bc the anesthesiologist (who was kind of a ****) said my BP was too high. duh, bc i was so scared and in so much pain. 30 minutes later with no pain med at all, i felt the urge to push. two pushes later, DD#2 was born.
my doctor didnt even make the delivery, and she was delievered by a resident.
recovery has been a lot easier this time around. maybe not getting an epi has something to do with it, i dunno. though it ws scary and traumatic, it was over within an hour and and a few minutes and for that i am extremely lucky. my DD is beautiful and healthy thank god, and was 7lbs 13 oz and 21 inches long.
i am just so grateful my doctor told me not to wait, because if i had i probably would have had my baby on the LIE.

OMG!!!! That's a crazy story! I'm gad you made it there in time! So, how bad is it with out an epidural? I can't believe they couldn't give you one because your bp was too high. Yikes!!

WOW!!! That was quick and props to you that you delivered with no meds!! I did it last week and the meds are what kept me sane!!

Wow- good for you doing all that without an epi. I would have probably wanted to tear someone's head off!!! But I'm glad it was quick at least and I'm sure it was all worth it!! Congrats!!
