How do you get your baby to take vitamin drops?
Dd hates when I give her Tylenol with the dropper, its always a struggle and that's just once in a while when she's teething bad. I think she'd start to hate me if I tried to make her take her vitamins every day with the dropper. I had some luck at first mixing the liquid into her baby food but she's starting to refuse that even bc the vitamins give the food a very strong bitter odor and taste. I even gagged when I tasted it so I can't blame her for not liking it. Any other ideas?
Dd is just about 9 months btw and has her front teeth. When can she have the chewable vitamins?

Try giving her the vitamins at a different time of day. For some reason, DS would fight us to the point of spitting out the vitamins if we gave them to him in the a.m., but took them without a problem if we gave them to him at night. Sometimes I also mixed the vitamins in with a spoonful of two of food and gave that to him when he was just about done eating so if we pushed the rest of his food awaynit was no big deal.
As for the chewables, I think we started them around 15 months. He has had no problems with them.

We put it in her bottle. Usually the first bottle of the day when she's the hungriest.
Funny thing is she's a better eater for DH than me so basically the first bottle DH gives her of the day lol
I was wondering the same thing about the chewables because I gag when I open the vitamin bottle. I guess its a good thing DH does it mostly.

Now that I am honking about it the girls had a terrible time taking the vitamins. The nipple worked for pain meds. Splitting up the vitamins worked. So we put it in milk or juice

I give it to him in the bathtub so if he spits it out it's easy to clean. He gags at me and makes a gross face and then keeps playing. He's almost 2 though.

I don't know why I never thought to just mix it into her last bite of food, but I tried it this morning and it worked! I felt bad because she was happily eating her yummy breakfast and then all of a sudden she got a spoonful of yucky vitamins and gave me the sour face, but at least I got them into her!

Re: How do you get your baby to take vitamin drops?
Dd is a beast when i give her meds and acted the same way when i started with the vitamin drops lol but now shes over fighting it and opens her mouth nicely. Its such a small amount, maybe thats why. I do it every night after her bath when shes laying on the changing table. I mix her reflux meds with her bottle & asked if i could mix the vitamins in one as well and he said no, they shouldn't be mixed with anything.
