Eating out with LO

Ques - if your LO eats finger foods do you put a placemat down on the restaurant table? Do you use a disposable one or something else - please post links! Lately we just clean the table with an antibacterial wipe bit wasn't sure if that was good enough? We give DD a puree for her main course but she also eats puffs and a few bites of our food and prefers to feed herself. It keeps her busy while we eat which is nice. She is too small for a plate or bowl and will knock it off so that's out. Just curious what everyone else does?

Disposable placemats. I kept a ton in My diaper bag. Problem is DS just liked to pull it off and just wound up eating on the table so I disinfect the table first then wipe it with a napkin to dry then the disposable placemat.

Eating out with LO

Summer infant makes a Tiny Diner--a rubber placemat that suctions to the table. It rolls up small in your bag and goes in the dishwasher. I love it! It's about $10 I think.
I was always sleeved that they use the same dirty rag all night to wipe down tables!!

I agree with both of the above posters. I tend to use the disposables more often, just because they are lighter to keep in the diaper bag and I dont have to worry about cleaning anything

We use the disposable placemats, but now DD is starting to learn how to rip them off, so we may have to explore other options. I'd love if she would just eat from her bowl or plate, but that will just go flying!

I used to do the same thing with the antibacterial stuff but I found this awesome placemat at Marshall's. It was rubber with suction cups and a scooper below it to catch any food that fell. It was a dream come true.
Something like this, except the one we had was Mickey Mouse.

I used to use the disposable placemats. Or bring one of those snack catcher cups to put her puffs in so she's not eating directly from the table.

Someone on here had recommended the FP healthy care booster seat as a travel high chair for grandparents homes and other family members. We actually took it into IHop today because its so great for DD to have her own tray. Just strap it on the seat and that's it. It was so great!!!

got that thing and HATED it! Never worked for us. Always messy, didn't stick to everything and SHE would yank it off easily. She'd pull on the 'scooped' side. Or the scoop didnt work with the highchair or table. It was just so annoying! Such a waste of money.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVED disposable ones! got them by the tons. Just stuck them every where!

When my kids were that little, we used the disposable placemats. They worked great for a while, but as they got older, they figured out how to rip them off. At that point, they were ready for a small plate.
