Turks & Caicos - Gansevoort

Has anyone stayed here before? We just booked flights to T&C for October, and now need to solidify the hotel.

We stayed at the Regent Palm a few years ago, and loved it, but can get a better price at the Gansevoort right now.

I'm mainly curious if the Gansevoort is child friendly. We'll be going with DD who will be 10 months, and another couple who's child will be 16 months. Also, interested in the pool area. The one at the Palms is awesome, so would love to hear reviews on the Gansevoort - are there cabanas, beds, shady areas for kids?

TIA!

I was in Turks in January and while I didn't stay at the Gansevoort we had friends who happened to be there so we visited a few times during our stay. Its a lovely hotel and the pool area is great, plenty of chairs, cabanas for shade, etc. However, the pool area was very quiet and I don't recall seeing any kids at the pool or beach when we were there (not saying they wouldn't be welcome but it was definitely mostly just couples). I would highly recommend where we stayed, the Seven Stars, which is on a nicer stretch of Grace Bay than the Gansevoort and was very child friendly. We don't have any kids yet and enjoyed it too but would definitely go back someday with kids also. Have fun! I love Turks.

I didn't stay at the Gansevoort so I may be speaking out of turn, but we did walk the entire beach (from The Tuscany to the Gansevoort) and IMO the Gansevoort was really out of the way from everything else. During the day the liveliest areas (incl kids) stretched from Beaches to Grace Bay and all the hotels in between. The Gansevoort was a far walk East of beaches. So....it depends on what you like. If you don't mind being off the main path then it's a great hotel choice. If you'd rather be amidst the action, I'd recommend Regent Palms, Seven Stars, Grace Bay or anything in between.

Thanks for your feedback!

We ended up booking the Regent Palms based on it's location and also since we've stayed there before.
