Men's Watch in the $3k range?
My over achiever DH got promoted so I want to get him something nice .......unfortunately, he got the damn promotion WAY before I expected him to, so my rolex savings is obviously not happening .......
He already has a Tag
Any suggestions? He is very conservative and is in a suit every day - TIA !!

Have you looked at Montblanc or Baume & mercier?
You may be able to find a montblanc near the higher end of $3kish. DH has one and he gets so many compliments on it.

He's had so much trouble with the first one - and it costs a fortune to service and/or fix.
$400 to replace the bands, (multiple times) $850 (twice) to fix it
Now it keeps running fast - like 30 minutes fast, and they insist it's b/c he works in a hospital and it's being 'magnatized' .....Um, OK, he's had it for 10 years and he's always worked in a hospital and this just began happening .......
So, now he can't wear it to work, at all.
I'm just turned off by TAG -

I know you said that you're turned off by Tag but I got my DH the Tag Monaco for his 40th and he loved it, gets so many compliments on it.
