If you go to or have been to the Center for Prenatal Diagnosis at NSUH...
Have you had a 3D sono done? This is where my OB sends me for my growth sonos. I had my 20 week anatomy scan and my 24 week growth sono, so next is the 28 week growth sono. I have heard this is a good time to have a 3D done and it's possible they do them and I can just ask for it - has anyone had one done here??

I go there for all my scans, it kind of depends on the sono tech, I have a regular scan every week and a growth scan every 3 weeks....when I have the growth scans, sometimes I get lucky and the tech just switches it over to 3D.....if you happen to get a blond russian woman named Anna she has always switched it to 3D for us without even asking! (love her!). Regardless, all of their sono machines should have 3D capability, so it won't hurt to ask, and I've never been charged for one yet! (unlike my OB's office, which says they charge $50 for 3D).

I was hoping you'd answer!! Thank you! I'm going to ask next time.

Anna just did my 20w sonogram on Thursday and she also switched over to 3D so we could try and get a good look at the baby's face! I didn't even know they could do that so I didn't even ask.

How do you know if it's 3D? We had Ana do our sonogram there and she definitely switched something over but I didn't notice a huge difference. Only that the their was color in the veins.

She actually said it. She used a different tool (not sure what this is called) on my belly. The images were more brownish and the baby had more of a shape vs. just a profile.

Re: If you go to or have been to the Center for Prenatal Diagnosis at NSUH...
Crashing but I had weekly scans there throughout most of my triplet pregnancy - growth every 3 weeks and to measure the fluid levels of my set of identicals every week. I asked if i would get a 3d the whole time and they were very cagey about it and said "probably" at some point but were non committal about it. At my 20 week they finally did it but that was the only time out of 25 plus sonos. I agree it couldn't hurt to ask and I don't know what the big deal was because as pp said all the machines have the capacity and it just requires the push of a button and a different transducer.
