New Here...2nd pregnancy!

Hi girls

After many months of trying DH & I are pregnant! Not that it was totally unexpected but it was the first month we didn't follow our OPK and BOOM--a BFP!

Any hoot, I KNOWi should be so happy but I'm feeling a little sad. When I found out I cried because I felt like I was "cheating" on DD & that our relationship would change. DH said I was being silly. Now my MS has kicked in & I'm just dreading having to go through this again (it was pretty bad for my first). Add to that I'm leaving on a family vacation soon & I just keep thinking "what if I feel terrible" Chat Icon

So...can you gals with more than one child tell me if this is normal? Did u feel same?

Also any suggestions to help with MS would be greatly appreciated.

i felt that way with my second but everything just fell into place and was amazing. i included DD in everything and she never felt left out. i feel it a little bit again this time with #3 but i know it will all work out. How old will DD be when you have this one?

for me seltzer was huge with my MS. i had to just keep chewing on something all day. the second i stopped i would feel sick.

good luck!!!

Hi! Congrats on your babies Chat Icon

DD will be 3 when I give birth. We already talk about the baby & how she will help, etc. I guess being hormonal doesn't help either!

I will try seltzer!!! Thank youuuuuu

Congrats and welcome back! Sorry you're not feeling well though. Chat Icon

I know I'm worried I won't love this DC as much as I do DS. I also worry that he will have some crazy jealousy issues because he is the center of everyone's universe right now. He is the only grandchild / great-grandchild on BOTH sides. And my SIL is due around the exact same time so it'll go from 1 kid to 3 in a matter of weeks. I'm glad he'll be old enough (3.5 years) when DC is born to really be able to talk to him about it and play everything up though.

ETA: In terms of MS, I definitely felt sicker this time around than I did with DS but I never threw up in either case. With this pregnancy, eating constantly, and carb-heavy foods, made the nausea go away. It was the worst in the morning and before bed / after dinner each night.

Re: New Here...2nd pregnancy!

I was a mess during my second pregnancy thinking I was "ruining" DD's life. A mess. I felt so much guilt and would cry...a lot. We planned the second pregnancy and generally I was so happy to be having another baby, but I was also severly sad (maybe even depressed). It was a rough time for me.

Looking back..I want to HIT that woman I was! I gave DD the most precious gift in her little sister and the moment, the exact moment she came to the hospital to see the baby I just KNEW it would all be ok. DD2 is now 13 months and watching them together melts me in a way I could have never imagined. I would looove to give them both another sibling one day!

Congratulations!

The very beginning was Sooo hard. Having to run after a toddler and having zero energy and nauseous and vomitting 24/7. Now tht I'm almost 13w it has gotten better. More energy, not that I can run a marathon, but I can keep up with LO at least. For MS I take zofran, vitamin b6 (a natural, not a synthetic), and unisom. I also take Epsom salt baths.

Congrats!!! I never really felt that way with this pregnancy. Maybe now that i'm due in like 2 months i'm starting to get nervous about having 2 and juggling my time but you really are giving your DD the best gift in the world so don't stress at all - everything will be fine!!!!!!

As far as MS it was THE WORST!!! I thought it was bad with my DD but having it and having a toddler to run around after made it 10x worse. Sorry :( The only thing that helped was zofran. Take any and all drugs offered to you!!!! LOL GOOD LUCK!!!! :)

Congratulations!! I have a DS and pregnancy seems sooo much harder this time. I didn't throw up either time but the nauseau seems much worse this time and last time I was able to go home after work and just lay on the couch and now my son wants to play play play :)
I haven't actually told DS yet since it's still early but he happened to tell me the other day that he doesn't want a brother or sister since all he needs is mommy and daddy :(
But I'm sure once the baby is here they'll be best of friends!!

I feel very similar to you... I'm expecting my 2nd in October and I'm super excited but at the same time I feel sad of how it's going to change my relationship with my daughter. :(. I'm just not going to be able to do all the things we had done before and it makes me sad. Chat Icon Shes five now so its been only her for a while! I also realize it going to strengthen the bond between my husband and my daughter, which is great, I mean they are already so close! But I'll be so consumed with the baby that I know she'll run to him for special attention and I feel like Im almost starting to feel jealous of the bond they are going have when I'm busy with the baby. Chat Icon I plan on breast feeding this baby which is going to require a lot of my time.
I know it's all going to work out. It's just worrying about the unknown I suppose. I think it's all normal and I'm sure our hormones don't help in the matter! Lol!
Good luck and congrats!!!Chat Icon

Those feelings are totally normal! I felt the same way when I was pg with #2, and even more so when I found out I was expecting #3.

They start to fade pretty quickly Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Congratulations!

This is my first and I am having some issues. We had to postpone our anniversary trip (losing $1k in the process) and I feel so guilty about that, about not being able to work much, about making DH waiting on me, about changin out lives. Hormones?

I'm sure it will all work out. Most people are happy to have siblings so you are giving a previous gift.

What are Epsom salt baths for?
