I'm Not Sure if My Water Broke?!
I'm calling my doctor when the office opens in 5 minutes, but does anyone know what "water breaking" feels like? I don't feel contractions or crampy, but when I woke up about half an hour ago and got out of bed, there was definitely more leakage than usual, to the point my pants were wet (Sorry gross!) My water never broke with my first so I don't know what to expect. (BTW I'm almost 39 weeks.) Thanks!

mine was mid-contraction and was kind of a pop and then a gush of liquid.
My friend though had more of a trickle- she was standing, and I was laying down- not sure if thats why it was different

My 2 friends told me they got up and thought they had to pee and then it kind of gushed out. I know some people just trickle constantly though.

I was told that you would still feel a leak and it wouldn't stop. Is anything still coming out? There have been a couple times where I thought I was leaking but it just turned out to be an increase in discharge or sweating (TMI).
If you aren't 100% def call the dr though.

Mine broke when I was going to the bathroom, so I thought it was just pee. When I stood up, it was still trickling and I realized it wasn't pee. Mine never really gushed, it was more trickling. I think they will be sending you to L&D to be checked. Good luck!

i also had a pop and a gush of water as well... but you could be trickling, i would call your ob

I had a friend that just had trickling - she thought she peed her pants.
So, it could be, I would just call and question it with doc

When my water broke, it was exactly as you described- noticeably wet when going from lying down/sitting to standing, but a slow trickle at first. I really wasn't sure bc I didn't have cramping or contractions either. Your dr will likely have you come in for a litmus text. By the time I got to the office, there was no question that it was my water bc I was leaking a lot more! If it is your water, good luck mama - you will most likely be meeting your LO tonight!

Mine was a slow trickle at first and then a little later it was a big gush.

At first mine just felt like a discharge and then it was like a trickling pee that wouldn't stop. Mine was def not a gush like it us for some people. I was not having contractions when my water broke.

False alarm! I went to the dr. and got a litmus test and quick sono. Litmus test showed it wasn't amniotic fluid, and sono showed my fluid looks normal. Dr. said it could have just been regular discharge or urine  . Thanks for the responses!
