please HELP me choose a VACATION location with a toddler!
Hello! My husband and I have an 18 mo old girl who we are very nervous to bring on a vacation. We are looking to start close to home for a short getaway. We live in Smithtown, Long Island.
What kind of suggestions do you have... looking for a 1-3 hr drive and something taht will be entertaining for a toddler. I'm not really interested in a beach.

If you are willing to do a slightly longer drive Baltimore Harbor is amazing! A great aquarium, children's Museum, lots to do and see. Philly is great too, The Camden Aquarium, Philly Zoo, Please Touch Museum. Mystic is nice. Boston can also be fun.

We just did 5 days in Lancaster with our 2 year old DS. We went to Dutch Wonderland, Strasburg RR, Hershey and Gettysburg. There are lots of others things in that area too. It was a great trip.

We did Lancaster last year too. Tons to do in the area. We went to Cherry Crest farms, Hershey, Stratburg railroad and then stayed 1 night and a live working/running farm.

These are the trips we did when DS was a toddler. We did Boston, PA (Philly and Lancaster) and Baltimore. We also did Southern Maine.

Great wolf lodge Poconos Montauk Cape, NJ Lancaster PA ( Dutch wonderland) Lake George Coco Key in NJ or CT Mystic CT
We did Mystic when my son was 16 months old, it was great. We did Lancaster for first time when he was 2 and 1/2 and my twins were 7 months old, was easy too.
Great wolf a bunch of times youngest was son was 3 and 1/2 and my twins were about 15-16 months, again, great for all ages at that time.
