Spelling of name?
DH and I are all set on a boys name and girls name but aren't sure on spelling yet. We don't know if we should go traditional or a little different. I kind of like Rien because if you move the letters around it spells Erin which is my sisters name that passed.

Re: Spelling of name?
I think the sentimental nature of the spelling Rien is nice but I'd still want to pronounce it 'reign' or something...
I'm a fan of the classic Ryan.

Will Ryan be for a boy or a girl? I love it for both. For a boy I like the traditional spelling, but for a girl I like Ryann or Rhyan.

I'd go with Ryan. Otherwise your daughter will be correcting people for the rest of her life. Can you do Erin as a middle name?

DH loves Shea as a middle name, since we are both huge Mets fans. We were thinking of possibly doing Theresa since that was my sisters middle name, is my moms name, and is the future god mothers middle name as well.

IMHO if you spell it "differently" your child will be correcting people for the rest of his/her life.
I'm working with someone named Kadee. (Katie). And she says its always been difficult and annoying.
Rien to me is pronounced Rheen. Not rye-ahn.

Agreed. We were leaning towards Ryan because of that exact reason. Especially because it is more of a boys name so it will just be added confusion with a different spelling.

Re: Spelling of name?
I'm not a fan of using weird spellings. Its unique enough that you're using a boy name for a girl you know? (Also, I love Ryan for a girl.)
I LOVE Ryan Shea

When I see Ryan I think boy. I like Ryann or Ryenne or Ryanne for a girl.
