Another spinoff to washing clothes
If your cushion/liner/whatever you call it on the bouncy seat/rnp/swing, etc is removable, are you washing it beforehand?

Re: Another spinoff to washing clothes
I was on a washing rampage with DS 1 and washed EVERYTHING. I'm doing the same with DS #2 because it's been in storage for so long. I met someone in retail once who told me if people knew all the chemicals that were put on our clothes, sheets, etc they would wash everything before they used it. I also have super sensitive skin and it turns out DS 1 got my same sensitivities.

Re: Another spinoff to washing clothes
if it's brand new i dont think you need to because you'll be putting them in there in clothes you know?
but fyi, if you decide you want to -- i have a bunch of second had stuff that i took the pieces off to wash and it was all easy to put back together.

Same here. The rest just seemed like too much effort to me.

I think I washed the cover but honestly can't remember. I definitely washed every sheet/sock/mitten/blanket/bib/burp cloth/towel/clothing item he got.
I didn't wash the toys much unless he was sick or it fell on the floor or something. it just gets to be too much after awhile.
