Biiiiiiiig baby?

Growth sono today and chubberz is almost 6 1/2 lbs. im not even 36 yet.
Is it true they can gain 1lb a week? I know things can be off and the gains are estimate but could i really be having a kid 9-10 lbs???

Does that mean they may want me to go early? C cuz he is big?

I see dr next week and will ask all this then but figured some of you may have insight

I was measuring last Thursday at 36w 6d that LO was 6lb 10oz, they said it was RIGHT on schedule and I'll probably be looking at an 8lb baby. It's not 1lb a week, they told me 1/2lb a week at this point.

Unless you are going to measure 9lbs at 36 weeks I don't think they will take you early. Seems that your LO is measuring right on schedule.

Biiiiiiiig baby?

It's about 1/2 a pound a week and take the guess with a grain of salt. I was showing 6 pounds at 36 weeks and at 37 weeks, when I delivered, baby was 4pounds 12 oz. My friend was told at 38w4d the baby was 10 pounds and she had to have a section. She ended up going into labor before the c and was 10 cm when checked! She vaginally delivered her 7 pound 8oz baby boy just fine. Her c was because he was "so large"

I had a sono at 34 weeks and she's about 7lbs. Both my
Other kids were over 8 lbs, so I am expecting a big baby, but every time my OB measures my belly and feels her, he always says she's a big baby. They are thinking 8 1/2 to 9 lbs.

Those sonograms can be way off. With my last DS they told me to expect a 9 pound baby and he was 7 1/2 pounds!

Eh, they kept telling me I was going to have an 8 or 9 pound baby. DS was born at 7lbs 14 oz. I wouldn't worry.

And no, they won't deliver you early based on your LO's weight.

At my 37 weeks my dd was estimated at 7 lb 11oz. She was born at 39 weeks at 9lb 1oz. They kept saying she was big ( I'm tall and so is dh) and they were right!!!
