What size is considered a mature follie?
I don't know what's going on! I am not due to O until friday/sat and today I was feeling a bit of pressure in my belly and took an OPK-- got a smiley! I should be happy but I don't think my follies are mature! Why is my body surging right now??! I swear things are so out of wack and maybe it's because I did not take the last clomid pill on monday night? Even so, you should not O for around 5 days after the last clomid pill.
I called my RE but they are closed so I don't know if they can fit me in for a last minte IUI..
My real concern is that I think my follies are too small :( I thought the body will release when they mature but they are no way mature at 16mm? I have two on the right side that were 15mm yesterday and the biggest they could be is 16mm at this point right?
Just disappointed that I may not have a good chance now

I was told that my follies needed to be at least 17-18 to be considered mature. I am doing IVF. 16mm sounds like it could maybe be close enough?

Unless they grew like crazy from yesterday to now? My RE wanted me to come back thursday for bloodwork and sono, then changed her mind bc she said I won't be ready by then. Now I am releasing the buggers!! Why so earlyyy! This blows!

I was told you can fertilize a 16. there is a chance you are a 17 by the time you actually release the egg. Good luck! Praying for you!! Btw I am sure they will fit you in.for an iui. Do you have a cup for the little guys or will he go with you?

Yea we have our cup ready to gooo!! This is mineola so there's always a chance I'll get a no lol I guess I will see in the am! Thanks hun

What size is considered a mature follie?
I heard 18 is mature. My RE says you can get preg on ones that are smaller. He said he once had someone get preg with twins on a 14 I think. Hopefully you will have a 17 or 18 by IUI. Best of luck.

u may not ovulate for 36 hrs and by then they should be fine

My RE says anything over 14 could potentially turn into an egg, but 17+ is more likely. good luck!!!

Don't stress. You are right on track. Anything over 16MM is mature. From my experience a follie can grow 1-2MM per day (especially if you're on meds). Like the PP mentioned, you can ovulate anywhere up to 36 hrs from positive OPK. Good luck!!

This.
If they were 15mm they'd likely be 19mm by the time you O, and that's considered mature.
