question about LIJ network (NSUH, Katz, LIJMC)??

what is the difference between Northshore University Hospital (Manhasset), LIJ Medical Network, and the Katz Womens Hospital?

Is one better than the others for L&D (e.g., private rooms)?

I am trying to look up doctors, and some are affiliated with LIJ and others say Northshore. I am just very confused now!!

Both north shore Manasset and lij have katz women centers. Both are new and I think offer private rooms. I'm going to lij because its closer

North shore Manhasset has a Katz Women's Hospital- they have private rooms, LIJ also has a Katz Women's hospital that has private rooms.

North Shore LIJ Health System is a a combination of like 11 hospitals. Is one better than the other? Can't really answer that I've delivered at North Shore Manhasset back in 2004 and had a wonderful experience. I will deliver this baby at LIJ in September so I can't tell you yet about my experience.

agree with what the other girls said- I think North Shore and LIJ are on par with each other- they both have top level nicu designations- I think its level 3?, both new, and both private rooms

As for where you choose to deliver- wherever your choosen OB has priveleges and whatever would be more convenient.

If your hospital is North Shore or LIJ, you will actually deliver / stay at their Katz Women's Hospital location.

I'm delivering at North Shore because that's where my doctor is affiliated.
