announcing the sex of the baby?
this is my first pregnancy. We are finding out the sex at our anatomy scan next Thursday (hopefully LO cooperates).
That same night my DH and I are going to visit my sister and her FH is Pennslyvania along with my parents. It will be hard to keep that info to ourselves being with them the entire weekend!
I'm trying to figure out how to announce it. Just blurt it out, do something cute? I would love to do a gender reveal but since it's my first pregnancy I'm going to have a shower and didn't know if doing that and the shower was too much.
Any ideas? What did you all do, or intend to do.

We gave my parents a card that said the baby's name inside. (they knew our runner up boy and girl names)
I gave it to my mom in a red envelope so she assumed girl thinking red was more like pink  When she saw our  name in there she was SO excited!

that's a fun idea!
Thanks! I was pregnant a few years ago and my plan was to show up at my parents house with a blue ribbon tied around my belly and announce the gender by taking off my jacket. Only thing about doing that now is.. WHO is wearing a jacket?!

Don't mean to crash but you could a do a cake for dessert.. Have it decorated in pink or blue and keep it in the box. When dessert time comes, pop it out of the box and voilaaaa boy or girl time!

We were going to do a gender reveal as well but decided against it because of the shower and I just wasn't up to having people over and trying to come up with a small guest list. We just invited our parents and siblings over for brunch and told them we would be revealing the babies gender. My older sister is an OB in Jersey and we went down the day before and videotaped the sonogram. When everyone came over the next day we turned the TV on and had everyone around the TV (we hooked the laptop up to the TV). We showed everyone the sono and they loved it. They got to hear the heartbeat and see him moving and kicking around.

Maybe you could wrap up a framed image of the sonogram and have it matted in pink or blue. What grandma-to-be wouldn't love a sonogram picture?

We just told everyone verbally. We were so excited, and everyone was waiting...I had a million texts while we were still in the sono appt. I couldn't hold it in long enough to plan anything special LOL
