Anyone ever been? The hotels were cheaper than Newport. But the point is to visit Newport. TIA!

We stayed there when my son was visiting some colleges in the area; from what I remember it's not a far drive to Newport

It's not far at all, but parking in Nert can be difficult in the summer. You may have to pay to put the car in a lot and then walk around town during the day.

We have stayed in Middletown several times when going to Newport. It's a short drive away and cheaper than staying in Newport.

Middletown, Rhode Island
We stayed at a hotel in Middletown last year right across the streetbfrom the beach. It was great. And just a 5-10 min drive into downtown Newport.
